We, at NCM-SHOAVA Engineers Pvt. Ltd, are immensely proud to have indigenously designed, manufactured, validated and commercialized the Vertical Shaft Impactor (VSI) in India. After designing and validating in 1997, we introduced the first VSI in CONSTRO 1997. Since then we have installed over 85 machines of various capacities.

Application of Vertical Shaft Impactor :
Sand has found its use in construction since ages. Sand or Fine aggregates play an important role in achieving the correct size, shape and mix of concrete and mortar in meeting the standards laid down for the construction Industry.

Natural sand is a result of weathering process followed by collision of rocks over each other for number of years, finally accumulating on the river banks. In modern times the way concrete jungles are mushrooming, the reservoirs of sand, which took many years to develop, are diminishing very fast.

The construction companies are starving of sand. This situation was anticipated well in advance by intellectuals from all over the world, who developed the process of manufacturing sand by mechanical means.

Q.1 What is the difference in strength of natural sand and artificial sand?

A.1. Compressive strength of M15 concrete cube of 28 days curing is 10 % higher than the natural sand.

Q.2 Is artificial sand acceptable to government authorities?

A.2. Yes, in fact artificial sand is recommended as a good alternative to natural sand. Excessive dredging/extraction of natural sand has been causing environmental hazards and is being gradually banned.

Q.3.Has the artificial sand been incorporated in Indian standard specifications?

A.3. Yes.

These VSI models are only for production of artificial sand. These should not be used for shaping of coarse aggregates.

Q.13. Which motor and starter should be used for these VSI machines?

A.13. Any motor of correct capacity and standard make can be used. We recommend ABB or Crompton motors. Any             Starter of correct capacity and standard make can be used. We recommend VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) for VSI             1000 and Star Delta for other models.

Q.14. What maintenance procedures should be followed?

A.14. Operation and Maintenance manual will Our installation team will coach and brief you on all required maintenance             procedures to be followed for better output and long life of the VSI machines.

Q.15. How is the availability and delivery of spares?

A.15. We are the OEM for VSI machines and always have stock of regular consumable spares ready to be delivered on             order.
